Poet’s Day

Going from Bard to Verse

These posts began in April 2020 following a long discussion about poetry with my cousin Linda who encouraged me to write something about the poems I liked.

I decided to choose three poems every week and write something about each one and post it on Facebook on a Friday.

I called it Poet’s Day; I have a weakness for puns and I enjoyed the double meaning.

I have tried to choose poems that are in the public domain. In moving the posts onto a generally accessible website, I am checking each one to ensure that I am not infringing any copyright. I will leave placeholders for those that require permission. I have also decided to discontinue posting pictures of the authors but will ensure that a link to the relevant Wikipedia article (or other online resource) is included for each poem.
