Not a Valentine

Not a Valentine

This is not a Valentine—
I’m not praising you for beauty.
I don’t ask that you be mine—
Not for now nor perpetuity.

It’s not me who wants to snuggle—
I don’t find you that attractive.
I’m not looking for a cuddle,
Nor a dance, I’m not that active.

It’s unlikely there’s an invite— You’re not welcome, never fear. You’ll not join me for a quick bite— No romantic dinner here.

Every line above is falsehood, Every line reversed is true. Every line inverts the truth good, And the truth is I love you. © 2022 Matt Willing.
