Poet’s Day

Going from Bard to Verse

These posts began in April 2020 following a long discussion about poetry with my cousin Linda who encouraged me to write something about the poems I liked.

I decided to choose three poems every week and write something about each one and post it on Facebook on a Friday. After a year, I found that three at a time was too much, and I reduced it to one at a time.

I called it Poet’s Day; I have a weakness for puns and I enjoyed the double meaning.

I have tried to choose poems that are in the public domain but some modern poems are too good to omit. I intend no challenge to the authors’ copyright in doing this and I hope it is viewed as fair dealing.
